50mm Macro lens test

Yesterday evening I bought StephenL’s 50mm Macro lens. To test the lens out I enlisted the help of a good friend who loves photography, and is happy to pose.

We started the session with a few action shots

Then we went for the ‘I see no ships’ look

Finally we did the ‘Deep in thought’ look

All photo were taken with an E1, indoors, without a flash, at ISO800 and were Noise Ninja’d.

Thanks again to StephenL

Re: 50mm Macro lens test

A promising start, Chris! Long may your model pose!!
PS I do prefer portrait shots, whether animal or human, to be naturally lit, so well done on that score also.

Re: 50mm Macro lens test

Thanks Stephen

Considering the photos were taken at about 10:40pm, under Ikea's finest energy saving artificial lighting, I am really quite chuffed with the results.

As to the model .... he'll do anything for tinned tuna and a quite life

I think the light's nice on these.

That first one's classic cat isn't it?

Re: 50mm Macro lens test

Thanks for the comments

This afternoon I tried taking macro lens photos of my model in the garden .... does anybody have any tips for getting a cat to sit still?

All the photos were taken with the cat sitting on my lap, and the camera held at arms length.
