Re: Message from Olympus UK re E-M1 supply issues

They are all doing this, on instruction from Olympus UK apparently, who want to make sure we don't miss out.

Can you really get a spare battery or is this referring to the battery grip?

Must say I thought it was a bit early, not due in till November, but did get just a little excited when he said who he was.

But what good customer service I thought. They didn't have to remind me to register.
It's no wonder I will shop with them in future.
Same with SRS, but I had not realised that I had to register. So a gold star for them!

Re: Message from Olympus UK re E-M1 supply issues

When everyone has received their E-M1 and the dust has settled, maybe as a gesture of goodwill Olympus could donate an E-M1 as a prize for a forum competition. Could I suggest a theme, "Trees of Hatfield Forest," or maybe "Zuiko's Back Garden."

Re: Message from Olympus UK re E-M1 supply issues

SRS sent a spare battery and a bag as their own intro offer when the EM-1 was delivered. I didn't realise Oly was offering one as well. As far as I knew the offer from Oly was a battery grip and a 4/3s adapter?

I think the bag and battery offer was unique to SRS.

Re: Message from Olympus UK re E-M1 supply issues

In order to ease my incurable itch to get my hands on an Olympus, I have made an arrangement with SRS with an E-M5. (Basically I have bought a used one) along with lenses ready for the arrival of an EM-1. It seems drastic but I have not dabbled with a camera for nearly a month; this weekend there is an air display at Duxford and I am off to the Isle of Wight soon after.

So fingers crossed that I get on with it.

Re: Message from Olympus UK re E-M1 supply issues

I was reluctantly forced to give up my reservation with SRS, who couldn't give any delivery dates, in favour of a purchase from Park Cameras, who have/had stock, albeit only of 12-50 kits. I would have loved to stay loyal to SRS, but a bird in the hand ...

It arrived yesterday after I placed my order late on Wednesday. Definitely worth buying.

Wow, do I like Olympus!
not going to go into detail because those more eloquent than me have said it all before,

I am struggling to post images directly onto the forum so here is a link to what I think is the pick of the 'keepers'
