Proper Blur

This is called the Donkey Ate My Toast -Wholemeal Off Course.

This vivid representation of seasonal variations and the theft of our summer by the Chinese, aided and abetted by the manufacturers of bagpipes, is proper dangly.

Wizny me

Re: Proper Blur

Yes that is really quite something. I'm not sure what but I do like it a lot. Definitely one to enlarge and put frameless on the wall.

Re: Proper Blur

Brocherboy asked for a how to for this

Here goes, if I lose anyone with this explanation just shout

I started with three separate shots as follows

1.

2.

3.

Shot number 1 was used for the sky, the saturation was upped significantly and the hue altered to get what I wanted colour wise. I then used the radial blur (spin) filter in Elements to get this
4.

I cloned out the figure in shot number 2 and applied saturation etc again and then used the motion blur filter (0 degrees and 999 pixels repeated until I was happy), again in Elements, to get this
5.

I selected the brick in shot 3 using the quick selection tool in elements and then inverted the selection and used, edit - cut, to get a black background. I then created a duplicate layer in elements, selected and cut the background to leave just the brick and then applied saturation etc and then Radial blur, spin, to get a blurred brick that looked like this. The layer was kept open in elements to add to the composite sky and foreground.
6.

To add them all together I had shots 4, 5 and 6 open in elements at the same time and used the move tool to position them in the final composition. 4 and 5 were blended using soft light I think and the opacity slider was used to get the effect I wanted, it was all just fiddling about really. Saturation, contrast etc. were being changed all the time to match and blend the images together.

It was magic fun and I had a real blast putting it all together Only thing is I have been poncing round the house with a funny wee beret on all day and making frame shapes with my thumbs and forefingers the wife says I am turning intae a right luvvy

Any questions just ask

Greg

Re: Proper Blur

Canny understand why you would be parading around your home dressed as Frank Spencer.

You've made me laugh anyhow.
