Wren in the Queens inclosure, Cowplain

The song from this bird belies its diminutive size. Thrilling to hear it and a really handsome bird.

I often hear these - their song does indeed seem as if it should come from a much bigger bird. I rarely manage to spot them though, so these pictures are a real treat.

I spent about 5 minutes at the bush, listening to the call and hoping it would reveal itself. I could hardly believe it when it perched close by, still singing.

Thank you for your comments. Yes, 1/80s. I had little choice as I had not increased the ISO (silly me!) and it was dull light into the bushes.
