Is It Any Wonder..

That Olympus always does worse against it competitors at ISO 1600!!

ISO standards seem to mean nothing to the competition.

Sure its here http://www.dxomark.com/

Looks like Canon have been misclaiming ISO speeds ( to there advantage) since day one.

Nikon's used to be very accurate up to the D40x but since then they also have been overestimating the ISO speed like Canon , I guess its a case of if you cannot beat them join them. Seems like its only Oly that are producing near accurate ISO ratings.

Is it any wonder when you put a 450D against a E-420 theres more noise when ISO 1600 is really just over ISO1000 for the competition!

The Problem is that there are no ISO standards for Digital cameras and they should not really be able to use the term ISO, especially as it seems in the chase for low noise some are going for the easy marketing route of claiming ISO1165 is ISO1600. And it kind of makes a mockery of magazine high ISO tests.
