Afternoon visit to Athalhampton

With all this wonderful weather, on Thursday I decided both my wife and I were due some time off from the house chores to visit Athalhampton which lies between Bere Regis & Dorchester in Dorset. Fortunately only 40 minutes drive from our home. It felt as if I was on a private photographic visit as there could not have been more than half a dozen visitors there! So here are a few shots to give you a taste of what Athalhampton is like.

Perhaps you might use "img" tags instead of "url" tags ;

Re: Afternoon visit to Athalhampton

The forum softwere actively tries to put us off the scent by adding the [url] bits instead of the correct [img] bits, I guess it thinks it knows best.

I like your composition, especially the dovecot and the lady-statue.
I'd be tempted to get up against that dovecot wall and see if ther're some pictures from the curves of the wall or the ivy/clematis/plant thingy.

Re: Afternoon visit to Athalhampton

It's a lovely place to visit, we'd been thinking about going there but didn't know if the new owners were opening it to the public, so thanks for the 'heads up'
