Miss of the Day...

Okay folks - yesterday I spent some time at my second 'home' for a day's photography of birds of prey (good news for you all - I might not be able to do this for a while very soon!).

Using the Bigma, I was trying to get some shots of this Peregrine Falcon. I don't normally bother as this bird is just way too fast for me . However the best shot I got of it was this one (it was hurtling towards me ). It has had some Neat Image treatment and a little sharpening, but even so I call it my Miss of the Day (or an Oh So Nearly... shot) :

Anyone else out there want to share a 'Oh So nearly' Shot that they have? I look forward to seeing them

A long way from being "Oh so nearly" more "check setting before shooting"

Re: Miss of the Day...

Another motion shot a couple of days ago - saw this exhuberant dog, got some burst shots of him leaping into the Thames, set shutter speed to 1/200 (not fast enough!) and forgot to use C-AF and IS2....

The other side of 'creative control' is all those damn' settings! (I for one do not look down my nose at the 'mode' settings the 520 provides - maybe I should have tried 'kids and pets' - I must look and see what that actually sets the camera to, in one go....)

Nick - I'm sooo sorry . I totally forgot you did this one

I didn't mean to hijack your thread (hangs head in shame ).

Apart from the fact I forgot to check if there was another thread on similar lines, I wasn't sure if the subject matter was Foto Fair or The Lounge.

Got it wrong again...
