Bird identification

Can anyone identify these birds

Pics taken on Sunday - the birds fed on the berries on our rowan tree for quite a while

parakeets

but not ring necked or blue bonnets etc - not sure which ones.

I agree but I can't identify exactly what "variety". Probably escaped from someone's aviary.

I believe it's mainly Ring Necked P's around SW London, from a small number of escapees (released birds) there are now large vocal flocks!

As the OP lives in Cannock, Ring Necked that far north would be rather unusual.

indeed - that and the lack of the appropriate markings were both clues!

I beleive they have been seen as far North as Leeds (so far)

I thought Orange Winged Amazons were large parrots and looked like this

just thought i'd mention that the 2nd pic was taken on my E3 with a tokina atx 300mm f2.8 nikon fit lens attached via a chipped adaptor

has anyone any tips on how to get the best from this beast of a lens
