There was always going to be limited interest in this specialised model. But now that more people have had the chance to handle the camera, and read early reviews, there mighty be some interest at these lower prices.

That's an interesting comment. Do you have any more thoughts comparing it to the EM1 mk ii?

Re: EM1X offers

I have just checked Camerapricebuster and it seems that every retailer on the list, apart from Mifsuds, has the E-M1X in stock. If supply is outstripping demand, it is possible that the price will drop to boost sales. It is definitely a niche camera with limited appeal but we knew that anyway.

A bargain indeed. I had to hide my Paypal details under the bed in case I was tempted to press "buy".

Re: EM1X offers

I can only compare them for birds and the EM1X is faster to use and gets more sharp shots in a burst IQ is the same to me .
you pay quite a lot more for a little gain, to me it is worth it, If you don't shoot birds in flight then I don't think you would notice a difference the OMD MK II is a very fast camera and it was always going to be hard to better it .
I do like the feel of it as its like my 1dx mkII so im use to this sort of size

Iv not tried the motor sport /planes /Trains on what there intended for so can't comment other than I tried Planes on birds ( no good at all )

A lot of what I paid for will be the weather sealing but I go home if it rains and if its cold (freezing I don't go out ) so I paid for something I will never use I don't do video so the same applies but it's no big deal after all it's your / my money to do with what you want as long as the gains are worth it to you

The EM1X grip is really nice I can hold it with the 300f4 by my side ready to swing up ( I just jab a button to bring the camera to life when I see a possible shot ) so the camera is always ready without running the battery flat keeping it on .

I like the ISO button and the joy stick make it easier to use this again make the EM1X faster than the OMD MKII There may well be a few more tweaks I have not found yet

Its a bit like the canon 7d MK II a fast camera but you have to pay a lot more for that extra speed and build for a 1DX MKII iv had both, again the cost was worth it to me of cause the main difference between the 2 systems is Lens weight and the price but to be able to get 5000 1DXMK II Performance for 2500 is quite remarkable my 300f4 pro was about 1800 my EF 600f4 MK II cost me 9400 .
I rarely shoot above ISO 800 so noise is not a problem above this the Canon wins .
