Terns in flight with the EM1.2 3.0 firmware

During same photo session as the field test conducted on the Gulls I also tested the setup on more challenging subjects. The location is a bit hard to find, you have to cross a recreational area and then venture into an industrialized area. During weekdays you will hardly see any visitors meaning the whole place is at your disposal so you can install yourself under your camo net. The terns will then come realy close and fish within meters from you conditioned by the wind direction being perfect (which was not the case), but still I was able to take some nice photos at reasonable distance. Moreover I was fortunate to get photos of 4 out of 5 possible species, missing only the Caspian tern who will show up on passage but until late July/early Aug.

The setup is a true pleasure to operate and it delivers. The last shot is slighly out of focus however it's a bit special so I decided to add it to the lot.

Thanks for looking
Tord

Settings:

Thanks for posting these Tord. What a great set. I especially like the first Arctic Tern and last shot with the 'flying fish'. You certainly seem to know how to get the best out of the camera and the new firmware.

Fantastic shots Tord. I'm guessing you're finding the 3.0 firmware an improvement then in terms of AF?
