Re: EM-1 MARK II review

There's an E-M1ii day at LCE in Leamington next Thurs which I'm hoping to get to. It'll be interesting to play with the thing in the flesh, so to speak.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts Paul, there seems to be no opportunities to go hands on down here in Dorset

Aren't you allowed out of the County?

Salisbury and Winchester are not far?

have you tried getting there by public transport from Bournemouth? (don't think of driving, parking is dire)

I was wondering why there is nothing in Southampton for example, home of two LCE stores, one of which is an Olympus main dealer

I'd get the train. 47 minutes to Winchester is quicker than it'll take me to get to Park Cameras in London on Saturday. Salisbury is about an hour and a quarter.

Have a day out .... you know you want to ......

Re: EM-1 MARK II review

Come on Brian, I caught the train from Salisbury to come to your exhibition And the X3 bus runs direct from Bournemouth. But the day in LCE Salisbury isn't until the 30th.

Re: EM-1 MARK II review

There is a number of reviews of the camera on YouTube now. They vary in quality and are all rather thin on detail at the moment. I like the Jessops one. I am not that bothered about the camera but I love the tiny owl.

Re: EM-1 MARK II review

I think this DigiDirect guy (Australia) in this video does a pretty good job describing the features (initially) of the E-M1 Mk II.

Olympus E-M1 MKII - Hands-On First Look - YouTube

A decent review. Confirms again though that the real target for the E-M1ii is action shooters and videographers. I'm struggling to see the case for upgrading for stills photographers who don't have AF-challenging subjects to shoot.

Re: EM-1 MARK II review

Paul, I think the mk2 was introduced as being an "Action Photographers Camera", this is after all the leading offer in their advertising :

"High-speed performance

The name of the game is speed and with the E-M1 Mark II, photographers have the ultimate in rapid response and performance in the palm of their hand. Up to 60 frames per second. Like never before"

For a landscaper I would think the EM-5 mk2 would be a better match for the price
