Plan B

Its been a great week in the Peak District for cloud inversions, but unfortunately on work days! With settled conditions I was hoping for a repeat this morning, but alas at Winnats Pass at sunrise there was just a smidgen of mist in the valley. So I turned the car around and went to scout out a couple of other areas for future visits. I did get the camera out for one shot in Wyming Brook though.

Re: Plan B

I know what you mean Chris I've seen lots of superb images this week. Not been out myself though, other priorities unfortunately at the moment .
Nice plan B though.

Re: Plan B

Thanks Phill,

There'll be some great opportunities in the peaks over the next couple of months. Apart from it being the main inversion season, there will be autumn colour soon - I'm thinking Padley gorge, Bole Hill and Wyming Brook. The Deer rut is starting already and sunrises aren't too early either!!

Re: Plan B

Agreed. I saw a fantastic sunrise shadow shot of Riber castle in the mist a few days ago. Can't remember where it was now though, Facebook somewhere I think

Re: Plan B

I tried a couple of years ago, on Mam Tor. Got there about 4am and found another six photographers there already, waiting on the dawn
There was some cloud inversion in the valley, lit by the moon which made a nice, if challenging, picture.
Then came the dawn - and the clouds came up .....

and up ....

... sometimes you just can't win.
