Pushing the limit II

Hi

Quite some action taking place yesterday in spite being in the middle of summer. Sharing some pictures taken with SW80 + EC20 (1200mm FL), the photo session offered plenty of opportunities practicing panning and focusing.

Sun was obscured by clouds most of day except late afternoon/evening, meaning air virtually free from distortion. Had to push the EM5 ISO to 1000... 1600 to end up with shutter times down to 1/1000s or better.

I think the results look quite promising.

Thanks for looking,
Tord

#1 Raven @25 meters, virtually full frame. Slight OOF if you look carefully, difficult at such close distance. (Ravens are rarely seen this close to town by the way. )

#2 Barnacle Geese landing @100 meters, full frame.

#3 Grey Heron @>150 meters, 1/2 frame crop.

#4 Ditto

#5 Common Terns @75 meters, 3/4 crop. (One landed with a fish, displayed it but did not hand over as they often do)

Re: Pushing the limit II

Thje Raven reminds me of a Stealth Bomber, the Barnacle Geese taking flight just brilliant, and a workmanlike shot of the Terns to complete a trifecta - well done Tord.

Re: Pushing the limit II

I really can't imagine trying to pan and focus that rig of yours, Tord. You make it seem so easy. The barnackle geese is a great shot.
