I think this is a great idea. Something like one item per month free then a fee payable for every other item with the price going up per item advertised. Definitely worth considering and I doubt it would offend serious members of the forum.

Re: fl36

well only if some one is using it for commercial purpose.not for some one who is trying to sell his 4 year old flash to buy new one .another way you see that lot of forum user enjoy benefits of 1/2 price compare to shops.

Re: fl36

Im more into reading on the forum more than having much interaction but i wouldn't think adding a charge for any sales whatever the requirements would be a good idea IMO
If people want too come and offer a item for sale what's wrong with that as regulars might get a potential bargain for a item they want and they could miss out on seeing if it wasn't here due to a charge ?

Anyhow no flaming me and no its not as im selling nothing either its just IMO

Re: fl36

FWIW I bought an FL50-R from Khan last year, we did the deal in person. He seemed perfectly genuine to me, and very pleasant. I did NOT get the impression that he was dealing as a business.

Re: fl36

I might be wrong, but doesn't initial liability rest with the shop you bought if from if its new?

As I understand it, they have a legal obligation to resolve the issue under the Sale Of Goods Act, but they'll just return the item to Olympus, get it back, check it and then send it on to you ***. It's invariably faster to deal direct with Olympus under their 2 yr warranty (although you pay to send it to them).

*** if you bought it from the UK of course. Grey imports are obviously not covered.

Re: fl36

Yeah, I can understand that... but if this is new then they(the shop) should replace with a working one surely?

I remember having a OM1n and the meter going faulty after 2 weeks I took it back to Bonsers... they moaned a bit, but did do a straight swap!

Yes, you're right, if it's within a reasonable period of time (3-4 weeks according to the Which summary here) And that'd be a better bet of course.

Just keeping the thread going

Re: fl36

Lol on the plus side Khan sale is getting plenty of free bumpage

I purchased it on eBay it was listed as new but he didn't provide a proper receipt saying that the PayPal one would be okay but the UK warranty card was in but it wasn't stamped either.
The camera did appear new all plastic on screen never removed and Blue cover on lens to me it looked new, but once i point out it was faulty i get the you can't have a refund as its not new comment yet I'd never known it was faulty if i hadn't tried it would i and implying i was trying scam him so was little annoyed.

Id been supplied a faulty camera and the seller just trying imply it's me trying to scam him, talked to olympus about it and they say its not valid with PayPal receipt get him give the shop receipt and a stamped card or get a refund really

So as much as i didn't want I've got a PayPal claim going now as its been supplied faulty and any discussion with the seller just goes no where really.

Re: fl36

PayPal are generally pretty good in cases such as this; good luck and hope it gets resolved quickly...

If you can still access the original auction page, and it is stated as new I would take a screen shot of it... although eBay will probably have access to all that anyway.

Re: fl36

I was most pleased when I bought a bag off Mr Khan last year; I seem to recall seeing some photos in his gallery when I browsed it then, but they aren't there now (although I've always found the gallery pages a bit clunky to mooch around in).

Good luck with the sale, Mr Khan
