Hi All,

Just processing some shots I took on my weekend away 3 weeks ago.. Not had chance untill tonight and thought I'd make some time for myself .

Anyways here are a few shots, I think they look kinda Alien like even though it was only an old locomotive works in Aberdeen..

more can be found here

Cheers

Garrie,

As usual some really atmospheric photography - I love them. I have looked at your other images and also googled more information about the site.

http://www.hiddenglasgow.com/forums/...hp?f=12&t=3836

This should give people the background - I hope you don't mind me posting the link.

If you compare the images on the linked site with those you have produced, its clear that yours add that extra dimension and take you back in time....

Cheers

Peter

Garrie:

Yet more gorgeous photography - I think you've managed to corner the market in tonemapping here - and brilliant at it you are too !!

I think your subject matter lends itself perfectly to the technique - I love visiting your Urbex Gallery on the One Mile Ahead site, I can just sit for hours and marvel at the technique.

Brilliant - more of same please (if that's not too greedy !)

Thea

I love the door with the "Beware of the crane" sign - conjures up all sorts of peculiar images!

Excellent stuff Garrie. I just love the surreal effects you get.

Thumbs up Re: Another door - Kinda Alien like...

Reminds me a bit of that room the guy interviews the hopefuls as they come out of the dragons den, loads of atmosphere in those shots, fantastic!

They remind me more of the PC game Half Life.

Which is why I struggle with a lot of extreme 'hdr', it creates dramatic images but they are images where light and shade has been constrained to meet the limits of our reproduction techniques.

It so reminds me of the great age of railway posters with its simplified structure of colours managed to meet the cost of printing. Almost a secondary world created for our expectations, where Minehead is always sunny and there are no beer cans blowing in the wind of bracing Skegness.

A great set of images, I really enjoy Garries work, especially his ability to suggest the macabre/threatening.

So, a mixed response, to a great set of images skillfully arrested into a particular idiom.

A really good set of pix, you will have to market your technique/settings.

Anne and I hope Susan is well.
