sticky lens hood

There was a discussion elsewhere about damaging the 70-300 "gearbox" when removing the lens hood.

Someone suggested using graphite in a pencil as a lubricant.

I just wanted to give others a heads up & report it works a treat.
Just draw heavily on the thread bit of the hood (removed from lens of course).

Thanks to whoever suggested that

That was me & I'm glad it worked for you. It is something that works for string grooves on violins too.
