Many gifts for her!

That's what this Satin Bowerbird tried with one prospective mate.
Here's a series of images from today's episode.

Re: Many gifts for her!

After I had attempted to get many photos he was still trying so I attempted a video, but with a small single AF point at 300mm handheld, it wasn't too wonderful but still shows just a glimpse of his routine (without the jump & wing spread).

The dog barking in the background was this one.

None from us. Must have all come from surrounding neighbours.

Re: Many gifts for her!

I'd get a smack in the teeth if I proffered a broken plastic clothes peg to my partner as a gift!

Fantastic to get such an exotic and iconic bird in your garden, Ross!

That's OK. I bought a nice bunch of flowers for my wife from the supermarket but my son sent his from the florist. Mine was not as appreciated because I did it the 'budget way' even though I spent 'a pretty penny' on a nice garden seat for her. It looks like I will have to visit the florist when that first lot of flowers are discarded. I have spent more than 'a pretty penny' on a lens (or two) recently for myself though.

Yes definitely seems a highly chauvinistic choice.

I find I get into trouble enough just failing to bring in the washing if it starts to rain. This can even happen if I wasn't at home when the rain threatened!

I'm sad to say our garden is remarkably poor for birds. Long & thin, with nowhere indoors having good views of it, so I'm on to a non starter there.

Even if I could see birds in it there'd be nothing like this!
TFS Ross.

TFS Ross.
I rarely have the washing issue. We have often taken the lazy way with the dryer & I prefer to wash my own clothes. That way I can only blame myself if a sock goes missing or colour runs from a new shirt etc. (I hated having pink singlets).

You could have certain plants that attract birds in pots. A small space doesn’t mean you can’t have birds visiting. Then there are the seed & water offerings too.

Good ideas but we have 4 cats, IMO it's not a good idea to attract more victims for them!
