Re: In praise of...............

If you have an extreme prescription eg different focal length needed for different axis of the lens then you need a bit of specialism. The glasses will have to be fitted so that the axis is in the correct position in front of the eye. Not all frames are suitable for all types and strengths of lenses.

I think we will have to bite the bullet on this one.....
I'm catching up on things per my last post re retiring ..

My last car got to being called Apollo by the Suzuki main dealer and was often cited in their reliability sales pitches

It made over 235k, but not quite the 238,855 mi which is the average distance earth to moon .. then like you the gearbox failed. interestingly the cost of replacing a full 4x4 gearbox was 1/2 what you were quoted

I hope you have found something that works well for you by now - I did, another suzuki 4x4

Regards
Andy

The Renault worked very well for a survey car, as well as a family car..

Now I have a Mazda RX8, with 105K on the clock. It does not get used very often I have to say, as my little lectric car, a Citroen Zero (Rebadged Mitsibushi) takes the strain, now with 33K on the clock. I enjoy my cars, but have always been "economical" with them. Only had one new car, and that was a Hillman Avenger, and its cost was 1200...mid seventies, and that lasted 10 years before the rust got it.........
