Shutter speed

After taking tonight's sunset I notice in the EXIF that the shutter speed was 1/16000 of a second. Now I thought that the max was 1/8000 of a second.
The only thing I was doing that I thought might cause it was I was using the silent electronic shutter.
I had a quick look at the manual( ) and I can find no reference to this.

Has anyone else come across this? I wonder if it will go any faster, could be useful when using fast lenses a low ISO setting in the summer.

Here my EXIF

Re: Shutter speed

Thanks that had passed me by. As I said I only had a quick look at the manual and could only find references to 1/8000th.
I've been using the electronic shutter all the time recently and have not found anything detrimental yet.

Re: Shutter speed

I'll revise at the weekend. Still can't find in the manual .

I tried it in very bright conditions this morning and can confirm it will go to 1/32000.
As I said earlier could be useful for using my 25mm f1.8 wide open in the summer.
