a few Locations for 2015 & Events

My schedule is filling up for summer and autumn - I am selling quite a few images for "card printers" and want more for the chaps esp. Big Yachts.

But the schedule includes my lifelong passion for horses and Team Chasing

21 March 2015
– Day of fun, food, fine wine, fotos, EXCELLENT Day (hic!)

4 April 2015
- Team Chasing - Easter Saturday – Baldings, Watership Down, Berks & Bucks, My favourite Class is the Open, (mid day – depending on no. of entries in earlier classes) although fences are only 3’ 9” they are “full up” and the technical difficulty (eg the Canal Turn) is ground rising to fence, full up with “brush of conifers” to jump thro’ , turn on landing in a MASSIVE DROP – at speed : and galloping on towards the final fences & Finish. Ian Balding built this fence to train his horses for Aintree.

Claire usually take the Microphone to comment - beware the Tam "Cunning Stunts" which is oft mis read

11 April 2015Team Chasing – Heythrop finals at Moreton-in-the-Marsh.
Best to arrive by 10am (for parking) and to walk the course; iD your fav spots for shots (check out sun etc.,)

CLASS 3: THE MERRIEBELLE STABLE BRITISH NATIONAL TEAM CHASE CHAMPIONSHIP ... For teams that have qualified during the 2014/2015 Season. FASTEST TEAM to win.

Team Chasing info – It is NOT for the feint hearted. Short season 6 weeks before and after Christmas. Many horses are retired Race and Eventing horses. Riders (mostly brave and MAD) One to watch out for is Joe (Bump) Stephenson, who also rides National Hunt under colours) and may be found in 4 or 5 Teams at each TC, he cannot get enough experience and takes chance rides on (the day) on some of the most difficult equines  Joe wants to a “Tony” (AP) McCoy one day soon

A “Team” is minimum 3 horses and their riders but may be 4 ; Start time is when first horse breaks the light start and finish is 3rd horse breaks the light finish. Rules allow for each Team losing “one horse/rider” on course. Generally Team ride at the gallop to achieve the fastest time ; However some Team Chase Races are to a BOGEY TIME - The Open is to Fastest time.

Spectators may walk on the course, but Whistles are blown to notify impending hooves at great speed – and signal “Clear the course NOW” …
Great CLOSE to ACTION shots may be obtained

23 - 27 June 2015 J-Class Regatta, Falmouth – Nick and I are here for THE WEEK with a few Tog friends. Nick has a most special affinity with J-K7 Valsheda and J-K4 Endeavour – both of which he worked on as a boy and man, with his grandfather handed down carpentry & joinery skills

25 - 31 July 2015 Royal Yachting Squadron – International Bicentenary Regatta – COWES

J-Class will be berthed at Ocean Village, Southampton and Solent Ribs will be offering “rides on ribs to get the best view/photos” book early to avoid disappointment.

16 August 2015 – ROLEX FASTNET
– again I shall be with a group of friends, Togs & Picnic for this momentous event. Depending on start time & sun, we may be on the “Island” ( 8 in Micky ) . A few friends have entered again to improve on their 2013 Race times & tactics
