Re: The Musicman appearing at my photographic society

How many of us do you need to make it worthwhile, and what would each person's contribution be?

That is what I am hoping to find out about.

I would only expect very local members of this forum (if any) to come along. We will have about 20 or so club members there so any visitors would be welcome. I am sure a couple of quid for the club funds (our normal raffle contribution) would be welcome. You would get a cup of tea and a choccy biscuit too.
BTW, we are paying John for his presentation time and will be encouraging him to make it available to other Welsh Photographic Federeation clubs.

Re: The Musicman appearing at my photographic society

Hi Dave - have you used Lightroom before...? I appreciate you mentioned to me that most of your members use a version of Photoshop - so I am guessing this will be new to most people there? (which is great for me)

Also - I think Francois was referring to my offering the online sessions which I have done before. I use specific software in order to accommodate 15 or so people being online and able to access my screen, and participate in a teleconference - which costs around 30 per month.

Not really John. Most members will be newbies to Lightroom, which as you say will be great for you. Mind you, I am not sure about the members that have used it before....................

Ooooh, I love a challenge

Seriously - it's not a problem for me either way Dave... my objective is to present an overview and demonstrate the powerful functionality of Lightroom, and to show what can be achieved easily and effectively with it. One of my slides is - as you'd expect - 'What is Lightroom?'. You'd be surprised at how many people are not aware of what it does and do not know the answer to this question. Before I show this slide I must remember to ask the audience this question to see what we get... that will be interesting.

I am very much looking forward to it, Dave. You say about 20 or so people there...? coolio.

I would like to see some members of the e-Group there too (well, some of the local-ish ones) but I suspect that won't be the case

I'm sure Steve said he may try to come along, Dave.

How many people can you accommodate...?

Probably 35 - 40 tops as we don't have a huge room. Not bringing the family, eh?

Haha.... not a chance Jen is interested in anything remotely associated with photography (unless of course, her friends need a free photoshoot), Heather loves being the other side of the lens as a model, and Lloyd is away in Stoke on a BT training course...

Just me I'm afraid... who's the main act?
