Re: Portraits ?

I think the poses in all are good and I don't mind the high key treatment.

I guess the acne could be PP'd out.

Re: Portraits ?

Well I think they are trying to show the different aspects and mood of a young teenage lad.

I disagree with Mark and do mind the processing treatment, if it's meant to be high key then you have failed in my opinion, to me it just looks like they have been overexposed or more likely underexposed then had the the shadows pulled back to much in processing.

To be honest a darker (low key) and more moodier process would have suited the subject better.

Sorry Chevvy but as it's in perfection and on the rare times I comment in this section I say what I think, which is probably why I do not do it much as most people on here only want a pat on the back.

I think that's a wholly fair comment - these were my reaction when I looked at them...

Chevvy - why not go back to the originals and try re-treating them - deep contrast, edge burn... I like the pose with the phone, but so much is lost in the 'milky' treatment...

Re: Portraits ?

I thank you all FOR YOUR HONESTY which is why I posted in here ! Thanks especially to Paul, Mark and CallaWolf ! I shall as suggested !

However, its not acne, sadly! He is very moley - so I cannot pp these out as what he wanted were shots showing his ability acting !

I actually prefer the colour shots ! So I shall post decent sized colour jpegs for comparison, if you would compare please? off to resize tiffs down and upload ...

Re: Portraits ?

I have put the colour jpeg conversions small, in

Aspiring Actor Portfolio ?

Looking at these more closely I feel even the colour is lacking - with too much noise ?

Also then I only had a 42-54 and 50-200 lens so used the former ! Now I am not sure what lens to use best for Portraits top and full length?

Maybe also up ISO to ?

Re: Portraits ?

I'm glad you could take it well, I'm sure with the original files you could do something with them.

I hope you do not mind but I thought I would give you a idea what I meant by low key may suit some of them better.

You will have to ignore the quality as they are from low res screen grabs of the coloured ones .
