First with 7 - 14mm

Took these this am with my new 7 -14mm, first taken through car window looking out to sea as my wife was driving to work. I had to go as well as I broke an anti roll bar on my car and had an appointment today so needed her car. Dot to right is a small Crab boat.

Second: I stopped on way back and took a quick shot of the Mournes, just like it in B&W

Slight crop, Comments welcome

Re: First with 7 - 14mm

So you decided on the 7-14 rather than the E-5. I don't really blame you as it is a super lens.
Let's see some images with some great DOF and foreground interest!

Car repairs and a new lens? My only thought on that lens is how far the front element sticks out, it rather put me off it, but its a great lens.

Re: First with 7 - 14mm

Good shots, but you've not started exploring the features of this wonderful lens yet!

Don't worry about the bulbous front end (on the lens) - the hood protects it - except from raindrops!

When I had mine, I tended to use it purely at the wide end, but that goes for all my zoom lenses. Only use them at one end or t'other, never in-between.

One day I'll buy the m4/3 version. Strange that it's made by Panasonic not Olympus. Wonder if there's some sort of agreement about not producing competing same-length lenses?

Two cracking grab shots Ed. Looking forward to seeing some shots when you get the time to explore with it in earnest

Re: First with 7 - 14mm

Thanks to all for your comments I know I have a lot to learn in using this lens, but am very grateful for the advice given before I made my choice to purchase. Lucky I did when I did as the car started playing up the day after I got the lens! Stephen glad you clarified you were talking about the lens I thought you had seen my after Christmas profile!!

Your Mourne pics makes me regret not visiting Ireland when I had the chance, especially as I'm half Irish!
