FUJIFILM GFX Camera - anyone have any experience with it

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the FUJIFILM GFX at all. Interested to hear what people have to say about it?

Kind regards

Paul

Re: FUJIFILM GFX Camera - anyone have any experience with it

I played with the GFX 50S at The Photography Show last year. My main impression was that not only is it large, but it's also heavy. I'm sure the IQ is spectacular for studio and landscape, but I can't imagine it being an ideal camera for much else.

This may put it into perspective Paul. The prism isn't shown on the Fujifilm but it's very low profile and would not come much if any above the 'lower of the two strap lugs' of the EM1x. Given the HUGE ( by M4/3 ) sensor Fujifilm have done a remarkable job

I will not be swapping my wonderful Pen-f for one as it's already more than 'I' need but it does kind of put things into perspective.

Re: FUJIFILM GFX Camera - anyone have any experience with it

Even the 'monstrously large' ( as many called it when launched ) Nikon D3 runs it close, yes the Oly is smaller but not by very much .......

Re: FUJIFILM GFX Camera - anyone have any experience with it

I have no doubt that the EM1x will be a superb machine and have many advantages over those I have compared it to but 'size' is definitely not one of them.

Re: FUJIFILM GFX Camera - anyone have any experience with it

I own the GFX50R and the 32-64mm zoom and I can honestly say that it's the best camera I have ever owned. Obviously, it's not a speed demon but if you're after purely amazing dynamic range and breathtaking sharpness of the Fuji lenses, I'd recommend it.

I use it for repro work and I'm just stunned by the 32-64mm edge to edge sharpness. Comparing it to the Sony A7R2 and Zeiss Batis 25mm, the Fuji is amazingly good.

If you're thinking of buying one, you won't be disappointed. Furthermore, it isn't actually that bad as a walk around camera, with the 32-64mm zoom. You have to watch your shutter speeds in order to get razor sharp results, but I've improved my hand holding technique and stunned with the results.
