Bluebird?

While patiently waiting for the right occasion I was approached by some people of Indian look that were intrigued about what I was doing. I pointed out the Kingfishers for them, let them have a look through my binos and they exclaimed "Bluebird!" Above took place late evening in one of the parks in central Malmö. We have quite many IT and software companies in Malmö area. These visitors were on an international assignment and had never seen any Kingfisher before.

These medium size ponds in the parks have a rich biodiversity and one of them hosts at least two Kingfishers, which is quite remarkable.

Thanks for looking
Tord

These are from 20 meters+ through the TS102 refractor scope + MC14. Access to spots with reasonable free line of sight is difficult and most areas will be in quite deep shade so I had to push the ISO quite a bit. Electronic shutter is really nice to avoid shutter shock.

Re: Bluebird?

Very nice Tord. I especially like the last one. We don't often see photographs of Kingfishers surrounded by berries.

Re: Bluebird?

Thanks Ron. These bushes seem perfect both as vantage points and for concealing. Will try to get some more pictures in better light and lower ISO however they rarely show up in daytime, too many park visitors I guess. Morning time would be ideal from that point of view but then I would be shooting towards the sun.
