Oly display in new London Jessops store

Has anyone who had images accepted for this heard anything about when it will happen, or received any proof material with our images on?
Seems a while back that this first kicked off.

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

Funny you ask this.I ment to say I was in the shop in Oxford Street about a week ago and saw no evidence of anyone's pictures.

Probably gone the same way as the lens cloths

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

I sent an email to Oly Press Departrment last week, enquiring about dates, but haven't had a reply. Maybe they're busy with Other Things?

Ah yes, the lens dress! The same with Kerso's competition. All empty promises!

Let us know if you hear anything please Stephen

I also read there would be a gallery, of the pics chosen, on the oly facebook page but that has not appeared either as far as I can see.

Perhaps the London Jessops store poster is going to be part of the OMD-EM1 launch party and it is all top secret...

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

It would be nice if all the authors with images in the display were invited up for the OMD EM1 launch with all expenses paid

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

I had a few emails when results were published, asking for high resolution versions of my images. I asked when the presentation of my prize would be, as I would need to see if I could get time off work, they did not reply to the question and I have not heard from them since. I must admit I am beginning to think it was purely an image grab exercise....not happy!!

That is disappointing to hear. As the winner I would have expected Olympus to have kept you updated on when the event and prize presentation would be held.

Maybe Ian can step in and find out what the situation is.

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

As I said, I wonder if all the PR staff are busy with a "new camera" launch? There can't be that many of them?

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

I know that Olympus have had other things on their minds in recent months, but this does seem like an image grabbing exercise. I would have expected a more professional running of this and it would certainly make me think twice before doing this sort of thing again. It is great to see our images on an Olympus advertising display and each one has a credit (I think), but we should have been kept informed rather than have to chase the company. I wonder if Ian has any thoughts on this?

Hi Greg,
Absolutely nothing I am afraid.

I feel very disappointed by the treatment Olympus has given to us. They were very quick to respond to me, until they got the images they wanted!

I am trying not to be cynical about this, but, as time goes on I am left thinking that we were all taken for a ride and gave Olympus a cheap display.

I am not bothered about the prize, a visit to the shop and a print of one of my images, in fact I doubt I would be able to go due to work, but it would be nice if somebody had the courtesy to contact me and offer the prize which I had thought I had won.

A very unhappy Olympus customer.
