Re: Hatfield Forest meet

It was nice to meet you all today. A quick scan through my EM-1 pix tells me there's remarkably little worth sharing from those ones, but a few of the IR ones aren't entirely awful (although a few are! always the way..)

Great weather and like-minded company … it was fun! Hope to do it again sometime!

Re: Hatfield Forest meet

Hi John -

Thanks for arranging the day.

It was most enjoyable - fields of gold - a warming sun - very good company with fellow e-group members and so relaxing. Reminded me of the television series 'Last of the summer wine' without the hills. At least the café was a welcome respite - the pasties (two) were quite scrummy.

I'll pop a few pix over on www.fourthirds-user.com when ready.

Thanks again.

Regards. Barr1e

Re: Hatfield Forest meet

Some good pictures from Andy, Margaret and Barrie so far. I really enjoyed the day, with fine weather and excellent company. I never doubted that the company would be just that, but I have been a little concerned about the weather just lately! Luckily the recent heavy rain had not taken too great a toll on the buttercups and they were still a wonderful show, if no longer quite at their best.

Margaret, I like your infrared shots, especially the composition of the first one. That converted compact seems to be a good investment.

Re: Hatfield Forest meet

Rather a lot from me I'm afraid, but hey - I guess that's what these threads are for!

Fields of gold - it's particularly what we came to see

Andy gets down to work

And Will lower still. I wish I could still do that!

Jim works from a more comfotable position

And Margaret sensibly follows suite

This little fellow got in on the act at our lunch stop

The Forest became increasingly popular as the day wore on with dog walkers and families alike

I was still photographing groups of buttercups that caught my eye right back to the car park

My thanks to Andy, Jim, Margaret, Will, Barrie and Anne for being such good company and making it a really enjoyable day.

Re: Hatfield Forest meet - The Pictures!

Hi Annie, thanks for adding your collection to the collection! I love the treatment you have given to No 1, one of my favourite old trees.

Re: Hatfield Forest meet - The Pictures!

An excellent selection of photos I quite like the infrared ones, looks like a good day out was had by all. John the tree stump in No 9 looks intriguing. Thanks for sharing these.

Re: Hatfield Forest meet - The Pictures!

Looks like you all had a great day and I'm very disappointed I didn't manage to join you.

Great shots from all. Andy's Tern is superb and Ann1e's Dramatic tone shot (complete with aircraft from Stansted ) works very well. Anne's IR shots make refreshingly different take on the subjects and Johns 2nd shot is of my favourite
tree at Hatfield.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Tom, Hatfield Forest has quite a collection of old stumps like that, mainly hornbeams.

Some smashing images there, it looks like a very enjoyable day out; just a little bit too far away for me to make it though
