My 52 for 2011

Hi All,

Well I've set myself a challenge for 2011. I'm going to try a 52. I was thinking of a 365 but there is no way I could manage a photo a day and stick with it, atleast with this challenge I ONLY need to take a photograph a week.

Week 1 (w/e 9th Jan 2011) Photograph - The Purple Door.

Comments always welcome

Cheers
Garrie

Re: My 52 for 2011

Definitely a more achievable target ... I know how bad I am at getting organized, but if I can get something in the last day of this week I will join in

Regards
Andy

Re: My 52 for 2011

Cheers guys

I'm looking forward to it, hopefully I'll manage but I may slip up now and again.

I'm also trying to stay away from tonemapped images however a few may creep in so I can't promise.

That's a good start Garrie, I suppose you just need to try not to 'peak' too early

All the best with the project.

This sounds like an excellent idea and a band wagon I may jump on. I was trying to think of a way to keep the momentum going and this sounds just the ticket.

Out of interest how are you thinking of displaying the collection?

Go for it, I need all the help I can get so if a few more people are on it the better

The photos for each week are just getting uploading to the gallery here and I also have a "52 Gallery" on my website.

Thanks for all the postive comments, hope I can keep it up

Re: My 52 for 2011

Great start, Garrie, I love this type of subject.

But no tonemapping? I wouldn't mind if it was anyone else but you're so good at it - can't we have just a few?

Re: My 52 for 2011

I love the colors and textures in this photograph. You are off to a great start on your 52, and I think the idea of 52 photos in a year is a good one. I am going to try that myself as a New Year's resolution.

Dan

Re: My 52 for 2011

Ha! Diversifying already, Garrie? Somehow I think your 52 will be more interesting than mine. Looking forward to seeing more pics with the new lights.

Re: My 52 for 2011

Is it week 3 already, where is this year going too lol.

Fancied having a go at water drops after seeing a cool video posted on another site, it made it look a lot easier than I thought

Here is mine attempt.

I was good fun setting this shot up. The results aren't as good as I had hoped they would be, I will be revisiting this again but outwith my 52 in the hope I can achieve better results.

On a plus note I've order a smallish camera bag that hopefully will allow me to take my E3 + 12-60 attached with me everywhere I go

Thanks for looking
Garrie
