Re: Anyone thinking of buying a E600

Re RAW support on a Mac, I stumbled on this on dpreview a while back

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=34106965

- haven't tried it yet, as I'm not yet working with RAW in any meaningful way.

Re: Anyone thinking of buying a E600

Hi

Thanks for the tip. This work around means that the Apple operating system can read E620 raw files (raw support is system-wide in OS X) which means that Aperture and iPhoto can too. Essentially, it makes the system think they are E30 files. Whether this introduces any problems I don' know.

Another work around is to convert the E620 raw files to DNG.

I don't see any reason why this method couldn't be adapted for the E600 too. However it doesn't help with Adobe Lightroom or Camera Raw which at this time can't read E600 raw files and aren't affected by Apple's system wide raw support.

Re: Anyone thinking of buying a E600

For those that are interested there is a Mac Exif Editor that should let you make Camera Raw & Lightroom think your E600 is an E620. I've posted a link in the E620/E600 forum for those that are interested.

There are still E-520's out there at about 350 incl the 14-42 lens.
