New Oly lens road map out!

Looks like in addition to the 40-150 f2.8 there will be equally fast 7-14mm and 300mm lenses in 2014.
Oly are certainly taking the EM1 seriously!

So no fast glass.

Re: New Oly lens road map out!

F2.8 is pretty fast for zooms, constant too. I don't think we will see faster zooms.

Re: New Oly lens road map out!

A 300mm f4 would probably be the best compromise between speed and portability. Fast lens fans will, of course, be able to use the existing Four Thirds 300mm f2.8.

And, if it actually works on the new body, it would require fairly minimal retooling for Oly to make those same lovely lenses available with native Micro-4/3 mounts. Glass, mechanics and electrics could all stay the same, it's just the bit that meets the camera that needs changing.

I'm not betting on it happening, though. Pity, as there might be a few old big43 300/2.8s going cheap if they brought it out in m43

Ciao ... John

Re: New Oly lens road map out!

would be nice if they can work on apetures larger than 1.8. Maybe they will start development after finishing the zooms

Re: New Oly lens road map out!

I don't think large apertures are an Oly priority. Plus they will likely make lenses larger.
