Re: E-group members at the show!

Excellent B&W Dave. That first spot is where I ate my late dinner just away from the hustle and bustle for a few minutes.
Here are a few I got with the new 75-300. All shot at 1600 iso in jpg, I think I'm going to like this lens.

Here's the master himself

Couldn't resist a bit of soft focus on this shot

Part way through Damien's set up I was able to get this

And finally the lovely lady who sold me on this lens.

Happy to remove these if anyone objects to me posting them.
My thanks to everyone on the Olympus stand you were all working so hard and really gave the stand a positive buzz.

Re: E-group members at the show!

No problem Ed it was good to meet you. I'm afraid I got lost picking up my cleaned E510 and when I finally got back to the Oly stand you'd gone so sorry we didn't have longer to chat. Glad you got the lens though in the end.

Not fair. .
Would have loved to have been there. Just a bit far.
You all look as though you had a great time - and who wouldn't?

Re: E-group members at the show!

Great to met so many fellow forumers. Had a lovely chat with several with the result I spent far longer on the Oly stand than I intended. A few useful hints and tips as well came my way in keeping with the forum ethos.

Now own up. Who slipped the jolly pill into my coffee

Very devious of you.

On a wider front had an excellent day. Picked up a few bits and pieces and spent ages looking at different papers to further my relatively recent new found passion for printing. So many different papers to choose from it's a bit of a mine field. Good news is I learnt a lot and have almost decided on a small selection I shall keep to cover different image styles. Just got to keep looking at the samples I bought home with me to finalise.

Found the people on the Epson stand very helpful with a couple of questions I had. Similarly the people on the DIY Framing stand were very helpful on the mounting and hanging front.

cheers

Hec

Re: E-group members at the show!

Check up this morning took camera and new 75 - 300 with me stopped on way home, I made a good choice! Took shots in the same places I used the 4 5 - 175 totally different results. Crisp shots in most cases will try to post examples later. Made yesterday at the show worthwhile.

Re: E-group members at the show!

Well i'd just like to say hello again to those I met on the Oly stand, Ian thanks for introducing me to the guy on the stand who's name escapes me at the moment, discussed the EM1 with him, and with Damian Mcgillicuddy nice friendly bloke, must try and get to one of his events, I really did enjoy meeting everyone, sadly missed Wee-Man but I think I saw him in deep discussion with the young guy from Olympus, (his charismatic voice carried over my way), I also meet a nice chap with his father from Norfolk, again names at the moment i'm absolutely hopeless with, but really enjoyed meeting up.

I didn't spend any money, but was sorely tempted with the 25mm but having just bought my 45mm, don't think it would have gone down too well in fortress Suffolk.....I also didn't take many pictures, but really enjoyed it, sadly had to go to my booked seminar at 12-15 on the oly stand so missed out on the team photo...never mind.

To cap it all when I left at 3pm to go to the M6 Junc, there was an incident so I ended up on a merry go round trip back to where I started But still arrived home at 6-40pm, up again this morning at 5-30, so only just been able to post...

Cheers

Peter

Re: E-group members at the show!

It was good to meet everyone yesterday…I didn't get many shots, must have been bad timing on my part or was there fewer model opportunities that we have seen at focus in past years. Ill certainly go next year if I can. Great deals from Olympus and camera world too. I got the 25mm and resisted the 75-300……Dave - I think the cash back deal was on anything over £300 - not just combos. I must save my pennies for next year!
