E-group members at the show!

Here are some snaps of the noon congregation at the Olympus stand at the Photography Show today:

Ian

PS There were many more (I think Annie counted 27) but some escaped the lens!

Re: E-group members at the show!

Anyone going tomorrow? Thought I couldn't make it at all, but a change in calendar suggests otherwise.

Re: E-group members at the show!

Sadly, I won't be going tomorrow after all - but I can tell you it was busy today, almost to the end of the day. Don't forget the stage events around the periphery of the show and Olympus has lots of mini-theatre presentations as well as open stage. And there's the sensor cleaning service which has been a great hit!

Just waiting at the airport for a plane home, good show today food not to expensive; I do not know what happened but my 45 -175 Panasonic turned into an Olympus 75 - 300 all I did was talk to a nice man at the LCE stand! It was good to meet some of the forum members and even Hec was not to grumpy. Stephen stitch up your pockets before you go there are lots of nice goodies to tempt you.

Re: E-group members at the show!

Well I certainly had a grand day out. If a little more expensive that I'd anticipated. I asked if they had an Oly 75-300 to try out just out of interest and when the lovely lady told me the price I'm afraid I just couldn't say no. Sorry Bruce for leading you astray as well! and Ed really glad you were able to get one in the end too. That price was a definite show bargain. It feels like a lovely little lens. Now to claim the cash back. Really enjoyed seeing many of the people I've only conversed with in Cyberspace before and Hec you've definitely blown that Grumpy image! I know you were having an off day

The ISO 1000 image is most impressive. ISO 1000 is the new ISO 200.

Re: E-group members at the show!

Meeting everyone was the highlight of the day and I am really glad to have had a long chat with Ed who came over from the Emerald Isle for the day. Judging by the time he arrived (early), his plane must have had a tail wind. Good to catch up with Bruce who I last saw at the Bristol Balloon Festival (with Brian Mosley) in about 2008 in the days of the Olympus UK Safari Group. Glad to get the 25mm f1.8 but after seeing that lots had bought the 75-300, I was wishing I could have got that too, to eventually replace my 50-200 and put me even more on the m43rds path. Am I right in assuming that the 50 Oly cashback was on everything over 300 or just camera combos? If it was on lenses too, maybe the 75-300 or the 17mm might have been better buys. One day......
All in all a good day and one of my photography club members got the EM5 with 12-50 and got the 45mm and two part grip free, plus 50 cashback. Bargain! She is now the 5th Oly m43rds user in my club when 6 months or so ago I was the only one. Times, they are a-changing!

Re: E-group members at the show!

Well I'm sorry I missed out in the group pic - got chatting to Gordon Lang (what a nice chap), although Ian kindly got Ann1e and myself on the thread.

We had a great time at the show it really seemed to buzz and I put my hand in my pocket and bought Anne a piece of new equipment (cost all of 20).

Anne's big disappointment was not meeting Ed the Wee Man.

Just to repeat - a great day.

Regards. Barr1e

Didn't take any group shots but here are a couple of others. EPL5 and my new 25mm f1.8.

Re: E-group members at the show!

what a shame, I missed you all by about 30 minutes by the look of it.

We were delayed by traffic problems on the M27 / M3 and didn't get into the show until after 12.30

I was tempted by the stylus 1 but resisted when I found that the EM-1 equivalent FOV is 14-150, not 28-300mm as I had hoped

Lot's of other temptations but my money stayed in my pocket (for later spending )
