Welfare concern...

I'm getting increasingly concerned for the welfare of my 12-50mm lens....I've not seen any specific bullying yet but you can tell amongst the presence of the Fuji lenses above that it can't be a comfortable situation. The 12-50 doesn't deserve this having provided nearly three years of faithful sterling service. Please help to find a new home for the 12-50....its still in excellent condition and only 110 + p&p to anyone who can re-home it in a friendly stable of similar branded lenses. This lens has been the unsung hero of the Olympus line up....this lens doesn't deserve this and the situation shouldn't be left unattended.
No lenses were hurt in taking this photo.

Anyone who can help with this appeal should answer this post right away or pm with an offer.

Re: Welfare concern...

Perhaps it needs company? My 75mm feels lonely, and WLTM another family member. Maybe someone wants a breeding pair?

Brian, just look at it's demeanor, it's feeling lonely because it doesn't have a body

An impressive line up! Would you, or StephenL, care to tell us what the net cost is of moving from one system to another? I assume you have ended up with kit of roughly the same performance of that which you are shedding.

I have just done a costing. Assuming I sell my last lens, the 75mm, I will have sold my E-M1 plus 6 lenses. I have bought an X-Pro1, an XT-1, 3 XF zoom lenses and 3 XF prime lenses (XF is the designation for "Pro" lenses) at a nett cost to me of £88.

I have equalled the wide-angle end and increased the telephoto range.

Re: Welfare concern...

I should add that my calculations do not include the £300 rebate I am due from Fuji for buying two lenses together.

Re: Welfare concern...

Which zooms and which primes did you opt for?

I am genuinely interested as I'm looking for more digital range

I have the 10-24, 18-55, and 55-200 zooms. The primes are 35mm, 27mm, and 18mm. These systems have a crop factor of 1.5 to 35mm equivalent.

Lovely glass it is but if weather and dust resistance is important to you, none of these have it (it's important to me I might add).
Currently there is a Fuji 18-135 super zoom that has environmental sealing but it seems to garner mixed reviews.

YES! Huw this weatherproofing ad dust sealing IS IMPORTANT TO ME I do not want to be restricted to "Dry Days only" its bad enough on a motorbike on damp/wet days

Thanks for this timely reminder of Olympus Quality Kit

Your needs are different from mine, Chevvy. You should only change systems to match your needs, not your wants.

Re: Welfare concern...

Chevvy,

Us retired people can usually choose when we go photographying thus avoiding the adverse weather conditions

Plus an emergency plastic carrier bag or two (and rubber bands) of course is always useful as a fall back (and can serve as an attractive hat to keep one's head dry)

Sid

I would hazard a guess that the 300 f/4 will not arrive until the autumn / tail end of next year.
The 40-150 f/2.8 plus x1.4TC should be with us before Christmas, I've got my order in
