Just to prove ...

... I'm still taking photos, even though I've not got an Olympus.

This was taken last month in Mevagissey with my Fuji X-E1 and 27mm pancake lens. An out-of-camera but slightly cropped jpeg shot with the Velvia preset. (Hope the Mods don't ban me!)

Mmm

That's sharp and colourful. What's not to like?

PS, where do you get your Velvia developed :-)

There's this scruffy old guy I know who has a couple of small black boxes with glass lumps on the end. He just presses a button which says Velvia and out they pop ...

Re: Just to prove ...

Hi John, I'm doing pretty well thanks....I'm enjoying the additional manual controls...and the simple task of learning a new system has helped me develop on. I'm posting mainly on flickr now, have joined the RPS with a target to do LRPS this year to give me a focus. I'm thinking less about the gear and more about the photos. Missing the compactness of the E-M5 sometimes...but I have an X10 compact that is good enough when I don't want the bigger gear...the lenses are significantly bigger on the X system. Hope you are doing well...I keep looking in on your posts here. Cheers!

Well Stephen I do not know why you have banned yourself for at least week with this kind of thoughtless behaviour.

Those colours are rather nice I was a real Fujicolour 50 fan for landscapes

Good luck with your LRPS, you shouldn't have any problem, it's just a matter of selecting a suitable panel. If you get the chance to go on a distinctions advisory day it's well worth it, not only to get a feel for the standard they are looking for, but more importantly to learn how they like a panel to be presented and work as a complimentary set rather than just a collection of excellent photographs.

Keep us up to date.

Re: Just to prove ...

Nice shot in nice weather Stephen. Can I post my shots of Mevagissey taken with a Fuji compact in 2009 (when it was raining) and 2004 (when it wasn't) without getting banned?

If I reacall the building just on the left (visually) of the green boat is a rather nice bistro style cafe. We sheltered in there and watched it rain. Did you go on one of the boat rides from the harbour?

Why not put them in this thread (with the usual disclosure). No, we didn't go on any boat trips. I doubt they were running, being mid-December and all!
