Re: Olympus UK POTD

Was going to join the Flickr group until I read :

Olympus Europe Inc. and its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, successors and assignees (collectively “Olympus”) may have, without any further obligation to you, a non-exclusive, fully paid and royalty-free, transferable, sub licensable, worldwide license and permission to use in perpetuity the Content in any media now known or hereafter developed in connection with the promotion or marketing of the Group......

So join the group, they can use it for their marketing without paying you ? Is that right ?

Anyone who has an image they consider good enough to earn money from should not post it on line, anywhere, without all the watermarks and copywrite notices they believe are warranted to protect the image.

At least you are made fully aware of the Ts & Cs.

Exactly, even posting small versions doesn't stop people stealing them these days. I know someone who had a national UK newspaper lift a thumbnail from his site. He's based in Berlin so I suspect they thought they'd get away with it. They didn't, he has a very good lawyer.

If you want to post an image from your Flickr photostream to the Forum, click on the share icon (an arrow, bottom right below image) select BBcode then select image size - approx 1024px

But you probably know this already
