Garden of Joy

Bendigo is undoubtedly one of the most prosperous if not the most prosperous Victorian Rural City.
Its fortunes were built on gold mining which in the early days attracted Chinese who came to work on the gold fields.
The Yin Yuan Classical Chinese Gardens (Garden of Joy) project was completed in 1996.

These few images shot with the E-3 and Edit*PEN (nightshot)* are but a glimpse of what there is to see. Unfortunately I ran out of time but I will go back.

Beautifully saturated colours there Mark it looks a lovely place. I'm sure the Pen would have done as good a job but exif says the first 3 were taken with the E3.

Re: Garden of Joy

Thanks for picking that anomaly, Phil. I had been switching cameras all day and simply forgot that I had used the PEN for the night shots only.

Phil - that is what he said right at the start. "These few images shot with the E-3 and PEN (nightshot) "

Know Bendigo - my wife's family comes from there.

Haven't seen this aspect - great pics.

Thanks Terry.

Phil was right, I edited in the PEN after he pointed out the exif anomaly, acknowledged in my reply to him.

The project wasn't completed until 1996 which is perhaps why you were not aware of it.

Very colourful Mark - what an interesting sculpture.

It is many year since we have been to Bendigo, but I do remember the lovely buildings.

Re: Garden of Joy

Yes Lyn, it is very much a photographer's paradise. I hope to revisit Bendigo within the next few weeks to reshoot some of the night scenes in the light of last week's mistakes.

I might also have another go at those fruit bats with the 50-200 instead of the 12-60, and I'll take along some stale bread to fatten the Ducks! [/CENTER]
