Before the haze arrives

I thought I'd get this shot in before this view becomes too hazy. I'm sure part of the haze we get in these distant views around here in summer is due to airborn pollen from crops, although there doesn't seem to be much arable land in this shot!



Still snow on the southern Cheviot slopes

A very nice shot and the presence of haze adds perspective and mood. I don't know what the weather has been like in your region recently but here in Lincolnshire we have had no rain to speak of for two weeks. Add to this large areas of arable land, wind with sandy soil and dust creates an interesting haze of it's own:

I agrewe that haze can make some shots special, like that one of yours and this kind of thing:


But the kind of haze which I mean isn't layered - it just obscures detail on distant landscapes with lots of stuff in them.
