Red Kite - caught in the act!

Managed to capture this beautiful bird on Wednesday, the final day of our clear blue skies here in the south!

Great capture Annie!

What's it caught - it just looks like a piece of moss?

Thanks Jim - I am pretty sure it is moss and at first my thoughts were that it was nest building but I am equally sure that Red Kites do not build with moss as smaller birds do - they normally make pretty untidy nests with twigs. It looks as if it has caught some very small tasty morsel and I wonder if it scooped up the moss while doing so?

Regards Ann1e

Nicely taken Anne.

It was a fun day, but we have had to sit in the car more recently due to the rain which has been quite relentless.

Re: Red Kite - caught in the act!

Many thanks for the 'likes' and comments. So pleased we managed a good day out before the weather returned to the norm for this time of year. We spent another afternoon in the same general area a couple of days ago but the only way to get any decent colour on the birds was to take them on the ground and then they were bobbing about worming!

Regards,
Ann1e
