Can I just say...

How nice it is to see on the group so many threads started by newer posters; just goes to show that the enthusiasm for e-system, this forum and enjoying photos continues unabated.

And along with the newer posting names there are lots of the names from the early days, still posting threads or popping into a discussion.

What a great place this is

Thank you all

Nick

Re: Can I just say...

Here, here! The forum seems to be really buzzing at the moment and that has been helped by our recent influx of new members. Keep posting everybody, old or new!

Re: Can I just say...

Same as Ozzie. I can be picky when it comes to photo forums as you often find trolls who seem to make it their mission to remove any fun from posting and reading.

E-System Talk ticks all the right boxes for me as it is informative, polite, friendly and active.

Re: Can I just say...

Yep - agree with all that has been said. Time constraints prevent me taking part as much as I want but, as with writing this, I try to take 5 or 10 mins out of work at the start of the day to browse and pop the odd post in. Always a pleasent interlude in a stressful day.

The only problem I have with this forum is the endless torture of people posting great picks taken on E5s and generally enthusing over said piece of kit. Downright cruel. I think I'll take out a super injunction.

cheers

Hec

I'm sure you have great members, but I'm not keen on the organisation of that forum as it's all in one single bunch of threads. It makes it harder to find the information you're after and it forces you to go through topics that you may not have any interest in.

I think you could be looking in the wrong place. If you click on the link to 'Olympus UK E-System User Group' towards the top left of this page, or on 'Forum Index' above you will find the forum laid out in a directory style, so you can find the threads that you want.

If you select Home you will get a random list of posts as you describe.

HTH.

There is nothing wrong with the E520. I have just bought an E5, but shall continue to use my E1. Indeed, my son cannot wait to get his hands on it! I also enjoy using my OM's when I have the chance.

The more basic the camera the more skill is required to get good results. Simplicity also frees your mind to concentrate on composition and to think about what you are doing. For me, a medium or large format film camera with a simple waist level finder is the purest form of photography.

I'm keen to improve the FTU forum where I can. I must admit that the I thought the FTU and e-group forums were organised fairly similarly. But being so close to it all, a fresh pair of eyes may be revealing.

Can you expand on what you mean?

Ian

Re: Can I just say...

I think Ian, Francois is looking at the Home page, where the posts are arranged in a seemingly random order, rather than the Forum Index, where it is all a lot more logical.

I have found myself on the Home page once or twice, and I must say it is rather offputting. Perhaps if the Forum Index were to become the Home Page any confusion would be avoided.
