Recommendations for a flash that works with EM5 Hotshoe?

Can anyone recommend a flash that would work on the hotshoe of the EM5 (mk i)?

I have struggled with a Nissin flash I was sold which simply does not do all I need it to do. I really need to sort something as I am completing a photography course and need such a flash.

Any recommendations or suggestions?
