Re: Wicked Fast. Wicked Sharp.

Interesting point that because of the 2x crop, the DOF of an Oly will be the same as that of a Canikon stopped down. I'm into available light theatrical photography and keep wrestling with the niggling doubt that I should have gone with Canikon for the better high ISO capability.

BUT the argument could be made that to get sharp photographs of actors (ie sufficient DOF to compensate for the fact they keep moving about) is f2 and ISO 1250 on an Oly equivalent to f4 and ISO 3200 on a Canikon (the maths is probably wrong there, but you get the drift of the argument) assuming you have the same shutter speed?

Mind you that isn't a fair comparison, I couldn't afford (nor be able to lift) the 35-100 and instead I am yearning for the 50-200.

Also, how does the AA filter affect the RAW files rather than jpegs?

David

I have been using my Oly kit for available light photography of musicians for sometime now. The 50-200 is pretty good for this kind of work, Sharp wide open, light enough and with IS easily handheld. If you are interested, my SWD version is currently for sale !

Re: Wicked Fast. Wicked Sharp.

A very good review, I haven't noticed any issues with back focussing with the E3 14-35 combo though.
Interesting about the extra detail and resolution that can be obtained from the EP1 above 100% viewing, although that not likely to be much of an issue as I don't blow my shots up that much.
