Ship of the fens interior

A few snaps of the inside of Ely cathedral from a trip a few weeks back. Definitely a place to visit again - preferably with a tripod, more time, and fewer visitors!

(All handheld with E-M1 Mk I and 4/3rds 12-60 lens)

Re: Ship of the fens interior

You can go on a guided tour, which takes you onto the roof outside the octagonal tower. From there you can see that the internal images of the saints are very elongated, in order to get the perspective correct when viewed from the inside of the cathedral.

Re: Ship of the fens interior

Great shots!
Looks like I ought to take another visit to Ely. I didn't get much of a chance to look round when I was there before.
