Olympus 7-14 F4 or 7-14 2.8

Hey, does anyone have either 7-14 for sale. If it's f4, preferably with a MMF2/3 as well.

EDIT: Already found

If there is more than one for sale, affordably, I might be interested too. (I have MMF-3 already, and a liking for four thirds 12-60 and 50-200, but have a feeling F2.8 might be better on size and AF speed as well as brightness)

Thanks for PM. I can't reply as I'm new here and haven't posted enough, but I'm tempted, but would find it hard to justify at home. I'll let lanceric124 respond first.

Re: Olympus 7-14 F4 or 7-14 2.8

By the way (and hope you don't mind a slight tangent) how would you compare those two lenses, particularly for IQ? I can't find any direct head-to-head comparisons, though a few web reviews of the "new" f2.8 mention the old f4. I think f4 is bigger, heavier, obviously a stop narrower, but also get the impression SHG glass might be even better IQ than M43 Pro glass??? And does f4 version need to be on my E-M1 to AF well, or will it work okay on E-M5 II too?

I don't think there's much in it in terms of sharpness, and the nature of an UWA lens means that the corners are likely to be a bit distorted and out of the focal plane. It's difficult to do a true optical comparison because m4/3 has electronic correction in the jpeg engine.

At the wide end, the f/4 lens is actually f/2 optically! But the diaphragm closes up to artificially keep it to f/4. One trick is to press the lens release button after focussing and before fully releasing the shutter - that cuts the electrical connection to the lens and the diaphragm springs back to fully open, giving you max aperture. Obviously you have to do manual exposure or dial in some compensation, but a useful trick when you have to get more light in.

The f/4 lens works well enough on the E-M1 (and probably even better on the mk2?), but I doubt the autofocus would be much fun on the lower models that don't have any PDAF.
