40-150 PROŁ869 in the UK!

From Kachashop - I know the name sounds moody and they're undoubtedly HK based but I've bought from them a couple of times and they've always delivered, usually in a couple of days.

Ebay item 261774711764 with free delivery...

i saw them on ebay when scouting out suppliers for my EM1 and despite good ebay feedback I've never heard them mentioned on forums (and they only offer 1 year warranty compared to three years of the other popular importers) so steered clear.

Good to know they're legit though

Is import duty any VAT payable on top of the published price.? It's usually the case for non EU imports.

I haven't paid duty on anything from them. I suspect some, if not all, of their stock is already in the UK as I have received some items in 2 or 3 days.

Re: 40-150 PROŁ869 in the UK!

I bought a Panasonic 42.5 f1.2 from them. Shipping was quick and from the UK, so no VAT etc. However, they shipped the lens with just some bubble wrap around the box and it received some damage as a result. Although the lens itself was fine, I wasn't happy with a damaged box so I returned it for a full refund which they did immediately and without quibble. Personally, except for the packing issue, I'd recommend them.

You're pretty safe buying from traders on eBay anyhow.

Do they provide a pukka "uk" supplier invoice for the sale? - seeing as how Olympus are offering £100 cash-back on the 75-300 at the moment, that would bring the price down to £239.

A VAT invoice will not suffice. To qualify for thes deals the item has to be suplied by an "authorised" UK supplier and imported via Olympus Europa. As Olympus no longer issue Worldwide Warranties you would also be dependant on whatever warranty the supplier offers. I believe the serial number of the item is needed to register for the deal and Olympus of course have records of all items supplied via Olympus Europa.
