Common Green Grassshopper Dothill 07.08.2014 by Tim J Preston, on Flickr

Heard lots but only saw one. Posed for a second before it lived up to its name and hopped off into the grass.

Re: Green, Green Grass

Do not know why they are called common as they are not very common around here; very nice shot. Closer crop possible?

Here's a tighter crop;

Personally I prefer the one with a bit of habitat around it.

So do I, Tim, it put's the grasshopper in context but still features it large enough to reveal all the detail.
