Re: Little Aston Church by Night

Thanks for the comment - I wondered about the apparent tilt, which may be due to being shot from a lower level (the church is on a rise compared to where I was standing). I'd looked at correcting it, but whatever I did to align verticals, it made it look worse for some reason, so I left it 'as shot'.

Yep. like it a lot. I can't see any problem with the verticals.

It looks great to me. I would say don't touch the level at all.

Like the way the Lightning Conductor has caught the light.

Re: Little Aston Church by Night

Fantastic picture. I cannot make out any tilt. Perfect exposure.

Was this the Olympus 40-150mm 'Junior' lens you used? If so, yet another example of how good this optic is.

Re: Little Aston Church by Night

The lens was the 40-150mm, f4-f5.6 R lens, supplied as a kit lens with several of the Pen range, and I've certainly been impressed with the image quality it produces over the year I've had it. I liked the highlight on the lightning conductor too - but I think it may be the way the conductor runs down the odd angels of the broach spire that gives rise to the question about tilt - but I don't mind!

Re: Little Aston Church by Night

What time of the day was it? If it was early morning hours, would that planet speck in the background be Venus?

Re: Little Aston Church by Night

About 22.15, looking approximately south west, so I don't think it's Venus, which I understand isn't visible until early morning at the moment, not that my astronomy is up to much! Suggestions welcome!
