Blue Mountains Winter Bush Fire

There is a bush fire that started last Friday night around & an area south of the Lincoln's Rock (more than 345 hectares of bush land) in the south eastern side of Wentworth Falls (which might have been started by careless sightseers or campers). Thankfully only one property is said (from one news source) to have slight damage & with a little rain over Sunday night it has helped keep the fire checked but also with the great effort from the 'firies'.

Here are a couple of screen shots of the mapping of it on a satellite image for those that have been here or whoever may be interested.

EDIT: And a later updated map

Major Fire Updates
Advice - Hordern Rd, Wentworth Falls (Blue Mountains LGA) 2015-08-03 09:47
Posted: 2015-08-03 09:47
Firefighters continue to work to contain the fire burning in the Wentworth Falls area of the Blue Mountains. The threat to homes has eased.
Current Situation
Light rain has fell across the fireground last night easing fire conditions. Firefighters from the NSW RFS, National Parks & Wildlife Service and Fire & Rescue remained on the fireground to monitor conditions.
Today crews will work to identify containment lines, particularly on the western side of the fire in the Jamison Valley. Remote Area Firefighting teams may be inserted in an effort to control the fire.
The Ingar Fire Trial is currently being used to contain the eastern side of the fire. Backburning along this trail may be conducted later today if conditions allow.
More than 345 hectares of bush land has burnt and almost 200 firefighters will be on the fireground today. They will be supported by three waterbombing helicopters.
Currently there are no properties at threat.
Advice Monitor conditions in your area.
Check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes.
Leaving early is your safest option.
Other Information
If your life is at risk, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
Continue to stay up to date with the bush fire situation by checking http://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au, listening to your local radio station or by calling the NSW RFS Bush Fire Information Line on 1800 679 737.
The Great Western Highway remains open. For information on road closures, check http://livetraffic.com. Roads may be closed without warning.
Some more pleasant memories of the area.

Phew - I get vertigo just looking at them!

There's no way you'd get me within 20ft of an edge like that!

My daughter was a little nervous for that shot too, although she is brave enough to do some abseiling, which is more than I would ever do.

BTW, I've added an arrow above showing where Lincoln's Rock is now (where they are, at two different ends of it).

Some more news on the fire from the ABC.
