Scarlet Tiger Larva Under Plank in Mid March

I had spotted a slime mould under this rotting plank on the soil. Returning a couple of days later, the SM was gone but this larva had moved in. We get the adult moths in our garden in summer.

The FOV was 35mm wide, cropped in the second image.

The white material is fungus, typical of such habitats. By the following day the caterpillar had gone.

The stereo is crosseye,

Olympus EM-1, (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, 1/125 at f8, hand-held.

The body is willing but the mind is weak.
