Question DxO Optics Pro 6-Elite software update

Just tried to download the latest update from DxO by using the "Check for Updates" option in the Help tab. (to 6.1.2.7540)
The update downloads as expected, (106751 Kb)but does not install by default.

My normal plan, would be to look for a recently downloaded file with DxO somewhere in the filename & install from there, but it's nowhere to be seen.
Similarly searching for the file size yields no results either

Windows XP SP3

Anyone any ideas?

Re: DxO Optics Pro 6-Elite software update

Hi Bill, I cant help a lot with your problem but having read your post above tried it for myself thinking I may be able to help, anyway it updated me from v6.1.1 build 7525 to v6.1.2 build 7540 with no problems. I am running Win7 64bit. I dont suppose the setup screen was hid behind another window at all?

Steve.

Thanks Steve, tried that, but no joy.

When your's updated, did it complete the update from the download automatically, or did you need to go through another step?

OK thanks for the reply, now mailed DxO and posted a query on their forum, so I'll update here when I get an answer.

Re: DxO Optics Pro 6-Elite software update

I cant remember much about the ins and outs of XP but it might be worth a try opening DxO with administration privaliges. I think you can do this by right clicking on the DxO icon and selecting it from the dropdown menu, then try downloading the upgrade again.

Re: DxO Optics Pro 6-Elite software update

Steve, thanks for the assistance; problem now resolved.

There was some sort of a clash between DxO and Comodo Firewall. The latter was being a bit of a dragon

I think the firewall had done some internal updates which had failed to initialise properly.
