A Fine City

I decided to challenge myself and use only the Panasonic f1.7 25mm on the E-M10ii and see what I got while family members amused themselves in Norwich.

It's telling that while I was processing these in Lightoom I thought they were from my newly acquired 12-40 PRO - the lens is better than I remember so I should use it more.

Re: A Fine City

A fine city indeed - and a fine set of photographs.

Re: A Fine City

I recently picked up a 25mm to complement my 12-40 – haven't really used it much though. Looks like I should be!

Nice pics.

Agreed. A nice set of photos from a bargain lens. I understand the Panasonic 25mm f1.7 is a tad sharper than the Olympus 25mm f1.8, so I’d expect little difference between it and the 12-40.

Thank you!

I got the Panasonic f1.7 25mm over the Olympus equivalent because there seemed to be very little difference in optical quality or size but a noticeable difference in price.
I picked up the 12-40 PRO here when I was feeling flush.
I've been reading about it being the "one true lens" for so long I thought I owed it to myself to try it even if I didn't keep it.
It is a fabulous thing, and even though it's sizeable on the E-M10ii it has become a firm favourite.

I must challenge myself to go beyond my usual kit of 17mm f1.8 or 12-40 PRO - the 25mm is good and the restriction of a fixed focal length is interesting when shooting a familiar location like Norwich.
